What We Do

Thoughtful growing solutions — built from the ground up.Gardenology is building a family of brands focused on how we grow in today’s world — in pots, gardens, balconies, schools and cities.

We started where all good growing starts: soil.
From there, we’re developing specialised brands around compost, biodiversity, trees, children’s learning and everyday growing.

Some things are fully formed.
Others are intentionally in progress.
All of them are grounded in real experience, local context and curiosity.

Compost & Growing Media

Healthy plants start below the surface. Our work in compost and growing media focuses on improving soil biology, structure and long-term plant health — especially for container gardens, planters, small gardens and urban spaces.

What we do

  • Produce the MBOLEA range of compost-based (link this to the MBOLEA range on the home page)  growing media

  • Offer soil testing consultancy and result interpretation

  • Advise on compost use for home gardens, landscapes and farms

Pollinators & Biodiversity

Supporting the small life that keeps everything growing.

Pollinators play a critical role in gardens, farms and urban ecosystems — whether we notice them or not. Pollinators of Kenya focuses on helping people understand, support and live alongside pollinators in everyday spaces.

What we focus on

  • Education on pollinators found in Kenya and their role in healthy ecosystems
  • Practical guidance on creating pollinator-friendly gardens, balconies and compounds
  • Biodiversity awareness for schools, homes and organisations
  • Curated resources and materials that support birds, bees and beneficial insects

This work connects directly to how we grow food, trees, lawns and plants — and why biodiversity matters at every scale.

Urban Forestry & Tree Growing

What we do:

We support tree growing and urban forestry initiatives that increase canopy cover using locally appropriate species.

How we do it:

  • Native tree advocacy
  • Urban tree growing guidance
  • Community and institutional planting projects
  • Education on long-term tree care

CHILDREN & NATURE-BASED LEARNING

Gardenology Kids

Growing curiosity early.

Children learn best when they’re involved. Gardenology Kids focuses on introducing young people to growing, soil and nature in ways that are practical, playful and age-appropriate.

What we do

  • Develop gardening and nature-based learning materials
  • Support school programmes and clubs
  • Create books and resources that connect children to growing

This work supports long-term culture change — and grows alongside our other brands.

Succulents

Slow-growing plants with a lot to say.

Succulents reward attention, patience and restraint. They’re not about speed or volume — they’re about form, balance and understanding how plants adapt to survive.

At Gardenology, succulents are approached as plants to learn from, not just collect.

What we focus on

  • Understanding succulent growth habits and care needs
  • Choosing the right growing media and containers
  • Watering, light and placement for long-term health
  • Helping people grow succulents well in indoor and urban spaces

This work supports both beginners and experienced collectors who want their plants to thrive — not just survive.
